The best and safest way to enjoy paddling is to take a lesson or join a course. It’s also a great way to meet fellow paddlers and have fun whilst learning!
We provide all the equipment you need to paddle safely, and provide clear guidance on river safety. The aim of our kayak and paddle board lessons and courses is to prepare you to confidently paddle on your own, whilst staying safe on the water.

The River Thames near Hampton Court offers some of the most interesting and accessible paddling near London. The river here is non-tidal which makes it less challenging and gives you the opportunity to focus on learning and having fun.
By booking a few lessons or joining one of our Kayak or SUP Essentials Courses, you will quickly begin to build up your knowledge, capabilities and confidence on the river.
Paddleboard Lessons
Groups from £45pp / One to one from £75
Build confidence, passion, skill and safety.
All sessions are 90 minutes including an introduction and safety briefing on land.
All lessons start and finish at our pontoon located in West Molesey near Hampton Court.
- We specialise in providing tuition to individuals and groups and leading adventurous tours on kayaks, paddle boards and canoes.
Want to build confidence on the water? Try one of our SUP beginner lessons with one-to-one support, or join a small-group session and share the fun with up to six people!
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
Paddleboard basics, how to start, kneeling on your board, paddle forward, turn, stop and paddle backwards. How to stand and manoeuvre your board whilst standing, how to get back on if you fall off, and how to paddle confidently and safely whilst having fun.
We'll also cover the 'rules of the road' helping you to understand where to paddle and how to safely interact with other river users.
These lessons will give you an introduction to getting on the water and learning how to paddle safely.
- A great workout, you can expect to build up core strength and improve your balance whilst having lots of fun!
- Our lessons teach practical ways to engage with paddle boarding quickly and safely.
- We are happy to provide any assistance and guidance on equipment beforehand if you have any questions.
Lessons are available to book for anyone over the age of 18. Under 18's must be accompanied on the water by a parent or guardian. The minimum age is 9.
Kayak Lessons
All lessons start and finish at our pontoon located in West Molesey near Hampton Court
We offer kayak beginner lessons on a one-to-one basis and in small groups of up to six. Each session is 90 minutes including an introduction and safety briefing on land.
Lessons are a great way to improve your skills and gain basic control of your kayak. For those looking for training sessions to suit their abilities, we can provide private lessons, where time with one of our guides will give you the ability to go at your own pace under our professional guidance.
How to get safely in and out of the kayak, how to start, paddle forward, turn, stop and paddle backwards.
We'll cover how to paddle efficiently and how to reduce the risk of injury.
You'll learn the 'rules of the road' and how to interact safely with other river users.
We spend most of the lesson out on the water and combine learning with exploring our lovely stretch of the Thames.
